Social Development & Training on Berekisanang

Skills development via internal mentoring and external training is one of the key focuses of empowerment on Berekisanang Empowerment Farm. To establish learning capability is of mayor importance to our strategic HR Roadmap. We aim to reach our goals via the development of Leadership, Managerial skills and Technical Skills. But we also focus on development of basic education, basic health care, sport and recreation and the development of sustainable income generation. Also the full understanding of the workings of Citrus Export, Table grape Production and Fruit Packing and Grading and the Berekisanang Worker Trust Development. Our latest project is the starting of a day care facility for the kids of Berekisanang.

To make all of these possible we rely on the support of several institutions and sponsors like Satgi, Agriseta, Fresh Produce Exporters Forum (Fpef) and CRI and hopefully in future AMSCO (African Management Services Company) – who assist African enterprises in becoming globally competitive, profitable and sustainable.

Our mission is to be able to create our own Training Facility on the farm to in future be involved in the training of our kids, youth and all workers.

Management has supplied them with a soccer field and netball field and weekend games are organised between farms. Building leadership and empowerment through team sports is very powerful and successful.

Organized sports teach people self-discipline, teamwork, goal-setting and leadership. It also ensures that children are getting exposes to parents in a healthy environment over weekends and not being exposed to alcohol abuse.
